The Rock Island-Milan Education Foundation provides critical funding to the Rock Island-Milan School District for programs, projects, and materials that would go otherwise unfunded by traditional resources. Through the generous support of our donors, we financially empower our schools to enrich the educational environment of all our students and provide scholarships for students to continue their education.
Our "Why" and Our Mission
The Rock Island-Milan Education Foundation (RIMEF) believes every child is entitled to a quality education
Our mission: "To Enhance Academic Opportunities for Student Success"
The RIMEF is committed to enriching the educational environment of all our students.
Our Impact - Making a Difference
In 1986 a small group of dedicated alumni, parents, and community members established the Rock Island-Milan Education Foundation as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to assist with the financial needs of the Rock Island-Milan School District. Since our founding, the RIMEF has given millions of dollars to the RIMSD strengthening our community's schools and providing opportunities for our students to continue their education. The RIMEF strives to "Be a Rock" - always there for support when the district's students, teachers, and schools need us.
The RIMEF provides $500,000 in grants, scholarships, and other program dollars annually for the benefit of Rock Island-Milan schools and students.
The RIMEF has awarded over $1.5 million in PRIME Grants to the teachers and schools of the RIMSD for innovative programs and materials.
The RIMEF has awarded over $1 million in scholarships to RIHS seniors in Austin Academic Achievement Awards and RIMEF Named Scholarships.
The RIMEF funds additional programs including the RIHS INCubator Class, Bright Ideas Awards, New Teacher Welcome Bags, Extracurricular Funds, HAVlife, Seal of Biliteracy, and Reynolds Returning Rocks.
